We like to build apps. For those not on social media, or even more obscure, are on social media, read this blog – and don’t like us on Facebook and Twitter – we launched our Euro 2016 Sweepstake app yesterday.

For anyone who knows their history of the early days of Reflex Studios, we’re big football fans. Whether it was counting down the days since Arsenal last won a trophy, or tracking the number of league medals Steven Gerrard has won – its always fun to do a side project on a topic you love. They always turn out to be good learning experiences. But those websites are a few years old now.

Fast-forward to 2016, and Reflex Studios have grown into a team of 4 with offices in Cookstown and Belfast. On Wednesday it occurred to us that the full team would not be in Reflex HQ this week. We couldn’t decide on a fair way to do a sweepstake draw before the tournament starts. We could just Google a Euro 2016 Sweepstake, and pick one of the many others that there are – but – sure where is the fun in that? Plus, as we said earlier - we like to build apps.

So, Wednesday afternoon a few of us sat down and built our own Sweepstake app. One that worked that way we think it should work. We think you have to include every country in the sweepstake regardless of the number of people in the draw. Then each country should to be assigned to each player randomly. Email a copy of the draw to everyone and then save it to a URL that we can all return to. Once we had that built – we decided to skin it up and share it with the public.
